I arrived in '78 (A cool year for British music) in St. Albans just outside North London. I can't remember being into a particular band or style of music till I was about 9 but can remember bustin’ shed loads of toy drums that were bought for me when I was a kid.

I started playing violin and flute at the usual school age, probably just so I could get out of class for a bit. Did a few local shows at the town hall but was totally crap so I gave them up.

I've got two older brothers - the youngest of which started learning drums and I used to copy him and just mess around on his kit. This was about the same time I was introduced to ROCK and Heavy Metal! My eldest brother would always be blasting out Leppard or Maiden from his room and I guess it kinda rubbed off on me.

My first drum hero – Rick Allen of Def Leppard. Bizarre choice 'cos he was missing a major limb by this point!!!

It was then I realised what I wanted to do with my life.

I practised all the classic eighties rock bands - Leppard, Maiden, Whitesnake etc for years 'til I worked up the bollox to actually play in public. I formed a band with a couple of mates called Choker, we used to do regular 'shows' on Sunday at the factory we rehearsed at for a select group of mates.

After about a year of gigging properly we got signed by an indie label called Roma Records for a single and an album – the album never made it! We toured the country doing radio stuff ending in Leicester doing a show for BBC radio Leicester - all of us too pissed to string a sentence together let alone discuss what’s wrong with the British music industry. Doh!

By the time we split my musical taste had changed somewhat. Away from poodle rock and on to more seventies punk stuff - Clash, Buzzcocks, New York Dolls etc. as well as the new American pop/rock/punk stuff like The Offspring, Rancid, Green Day - The list goes on.

Three years ago I joined Inhale, which brought me to London. We played loads of clubs and a few UK tours. It was at a gig where I met Candyheads and after getting to know them nabbed one of their CD's, listened and thought the stuff was real cool.

I'd just got back from a festival gig supporting Reef when I was asked to join Candyheads. Although I wanted to, the time didn’t seem right to quit my other band so turned it down!

A week later I woke up and thought 'Oh shit, I think I've made a big mistake', so got back in contact with them to see if the offer was still open. The guys had been auditioning other drummers by this time but agreed to give me a try out - which I fucked up!

I managed to get a second audition and really worked my arse off to learn the stuff and prove that I was serious and the right person for the job.

It paid off and here I am about to enter the rock world with a cool bunch of guys (and gal) and kicking tunes…

Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
